The Model 1885 is uniquely suited to the long-range accuracy shooting of the day and is the world’s premier single shot hunting rifle. The stout falling-block action is as impressive as ever. The precision barrel is famous for uncanny accuracy. A special internal hanger system allows the forearm to be free-floating so it will not affect accuracy. The hammer actually drops down, out of the way, when the lever is cycled forward. This makes loading and unloading very convenient. The Model 1885 also features a strong, machined steel receiver and crisp, adjustable trigger.
Overview

The falling block design is strong and has been utilized for a broad variety of calibers for more than 100 years. This version incorporates a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad to soak up the recoil of the cartridge, ensuring comfortable shooting, round after round at the range or in the field.
