Henry produces, hands down, some of the best-looking lever action rifles on the market with brass and silver models, but they appreciate the more utilitarian side of life as well. For everyday life in the truck, on the farm, and through the woods, the hard-working All-Weather finish is a must-have.

Built for a tough world, Henry uses a satin hard chrome plating that’s permanently bonded to the steel underneath that doesn’t flake, chip, peel, and has a corrosion resistance that actually exceeds some stainless steel. Not only does this increase surface hardness, but it also reduces friction on moving parts to take our already smooth action to the next level. Details are important, so even the screws are stainless.

While Henry remain partial to our genuine American walnut stocks, they opted for a stained hardwood with a carefully engineered coating that is formulated to stand up to wear, tear, scratches, moisture, temperature variations, and the angst of the various “character marks” that an everyday outdoor tool will inevitably pick up during its lifetime. This is the finish you want for a rifle that might be “rode hard and put away wet.”

This Henry is essentially the same as their blued steel counterparts in profile and general dimensions. The .30-30 features a 20” round barrel, straight-wrist stock, 5-shot magazine capacity, it comes with the same adjustable semi-buckhorn rear and brass bead front sights. The receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope, and comes with sling swivel studs and ventilated rubber recoil pads installed.

For some added utility, this rifles is configured with a side loading gate to make loading and keeping the magazine topped off as easy as possible. However, the magazine tube is still removable for safe, easy unloading.

The .30-30 is the preeminent caliber of choice for millions of deer hunter. In this All-Weather rifles, the beauty is in their extreme durability.

The five-shot tube magazine can be loaded from the front or topped off through the side gate. While deer seldom require 5+1 capacity, hogs or coyotes might. While we are fond of the brass tradition begun by B.T. Henry’s 1860 rifle, we do understand that today’s hunter may prefer something less “pretty” for a working gun, and the Big Boy Steel Side Gate carries on the same brush gun performance of the brass-framed Big Boys.

This Side Gate model come in the powerful 357 Magnum cartridge but also handle milder 38 Special Loads with a 20” round barrel and a large-loop lever for gloved cold-weather use and extra style points. It features fine checkering on the genuine American walnut fore-end and straight-wrist stock, range-adjustable semi-buckhorn rear and brass bead front sights, an automatic in-hammer transfer bar safety, and our best-of-both-worlds side loading gate and removable tube magazine configuration. Rifles hold seven rounds in this carbine version. 

This carbine version fits saddle scabbards snugly, with the milder report of pistol-caliber cartridges being easier on the horse ears. The carbine makes as handy a trail partner in dense woodland undergrowth as it does in off-road vehicles and trucks.

Traditional in appearance, pistol-caliber Big Boys are drilled and tapped for optic mounts for rapid target acquisition with red dots and longer reach with magnified scopes.
