The Steyr Scout provides the ideal solution for versatility, durability, accuracy and reliability in a compact and lightweight bolt-action rifle platform. Developed in collaboration with legendary Marine Corps Lt.Col. Jeff Cooper, the Scout boasts an extensive list of innovative features. With a fluted, and a cold-hammer-forged barrel measuring 19″ and, on this new version, threaded (1/2×20 with adapter to 5/8×24 provided) , the Scout is a breeze to pack out on long adventures. The compact design of the stock features an innovative integrated bipod legs with a UIT rail for attachments. The stock is outfitted with five press-and-twist sling-swivel attachment points. This rifle also features a black synthetic stock and it comes with two 5 rd magazines, with room in the buttstock to carry the additional magazine.Due to its short overall length of less than 39 inches and the low weight with approximately 6.6 pounds, the STEYR SCOUT is the perfect rifle to be utilized universally. If there was a saying “A man needs only one rifle”, then this rifle must be a STEYR SCOUT. Magazine fed, an additional five or an optional ten-cartridge-magazine, can be accommodated in the hollow well of the ergonomically shaped synthetic stock. This is not the only detail, which makes this lightweight rifle practical and universal.When necessary, the bipod, which is integrated in the stock’s forearm, can be unfolded. Thus, the shot will be precise even when no other support is available. The Mark V 338 Lapua Tactical has an ergonomic, fully adjustable composite stock that fits virtually any body size or shape. Other features include hand-tuned fully adjustable trigger (factory set at 3lbs with sear engagement set at .008 to .014), equipped with recoil reducing Accubrake, combines tactical accuracy at extended ranges and has a 28″ overall barrel length with brake. With the included Accubrake you can significantly reduce felt recoil up to 53 percent. That’s nearly 10 percent more effective than their nearest competitor. It has checkered thread protector, for a near perfect brake-to-barrel contour match. Because the crown is located at the end of the barrel, not the brake, the lands are protected, preserving accuracy. As the bullet exits the barrel it passes through the brake without contact. The brake in no way adversely affects velocity or accuracy, only felt recoil and muzzle jump. Constructed of stress-proof 420 Series stainless steel and matte stainless steel finish.
