NEW 2015 MODEL! Durable and exceptionally accurate, the Mountain Ascent is the lightest production bolt action big game rifle available today. Some of the units we sold before weighted less than seven pounds after installing the scope! This new for 2015 model is offered in the powerful 270 WSM with a short action that adds even further to the lightness and handling of the rifle and provides a myriad of factory loads for any situation!
Introduced in 2002 by Winchester, this caliber quickly took the market by storm and has become extremely popular. The 270 WSM is a clear improvement over the older 270 Winchester providing higher velocity with bullets of the same weight, and thus a flatter trajectory and more energy. Velocities tend to be about 250 fps higher in a cartridge that is shorter and can therefore be used in a shorter action for a more compact rifle.

The Mark V 338 Lapua Tactical has an ergonomic, fully adjustable composite stock that fits virtually any body size or shape. Other features include hand-tuned fully adjustable trigger (factory set at 3lbs with sear engagement set at .008 to .014), equipped with recoil reducing Accubrake, combines tactical accuracy at extended ranges and has a 28″ overall barrel length with brake. With the included Accubrake you can significantly reduce felt recoil up to 53 percent. That’s nearly 10 percent more effective than their nearest competitor. It has checkered thread protector, for a near perfect brake-to-barrel contour match. Because the crown is located at the end of the barrel, not the brake, the lands are protected, preserving accuracy. As the bullet exits the barrel it passes through the brake without contact.
