From The Scopesmith: “Golf with a Shotgun” has been called. A Sporting Clays round is the most entertaining shotgun activity behind a great bird hunt. Unfortunately today’s Sporting Clays courses are so challenging that you would be seriously outgunned by your buddies if you show up with a regular hunting shotgun. Lightweight, long barrels with porting, external chokes and adjustable stock give the dedicated Sporting Clays shotgun a definitive edge. The Browning 725 Citori Sporting described on this posting represents, in our opinion, the best Sporting Clays shotgun on it class, better that some other priced twice as much. We will only receive this unit this year.

From Browning: Adjustable comb, ported barrels, fiber optic bead, gloss oil finish, checkered walnut, engraved low-profile steel receiver, mechanical trigger, Invector-DS chokes. The New Browning Citori 725 Sports.

Balance, form, excellence.  The new Citori 725 is the evolution of John M. Browning’s legendary B25 Superposed, now with the modern performance advantage of a Low-Profile receiver. The new 725 receiver is significantly lower than other Citori 12 gauge receivers, yet the 725 shares the renowned durability of generations of Citori over and unders with the same rugged full-width hinge pin and tapered locking bolt design. One with the gun. With a 725, you get the “one with the gun” feeling you want, with the long lasting durability you expect from a Browning over and under. And the features don’t stop there. The 725 showcases an all-new Mechanical Trigger (FireLite) that offers unmatched feel and lighter pull weights than ever before. Inflex Technology has also been added to make shooting more comfortable. And the new Invector-DS choke system moves to a new level of performance. Experience the benefits these improvements can do for your shooting with a new Citori 725.

Browning’s Citori is more than a shotgun, it is the quintessential representative of the quality of the Browning brand. The action components are machined to exacting tolerances, heat-treated for greater strength and fitted using the traditional lampblack-and-file method to ensure precise fitting. It utilizes a transverse-mounted, full-width tapered locking bolt, which engages a full-width tapered recess in the rear barrel lugs. The Citori also has a chrome-plated chamber. The Citori 725 is the evolution of John M. Browning’s legendary B25 Superposed, but with the modern performance advantage of a low-profile receiver. The receiver is significantly lower than other Citori 12 gauge receivers, yet it shares the renowned durability of generations of Citori over and unders with the same rugged full-width hinge pin and tapered locking bolt design. The total barrel dynamics increases bore diameter specifications, while the tapered Vector Pro dimensions minimize shot deformation. The Citori 725 also has a Fire Lite Mechanical trigger, Inflex II technology, and hinge pin which extend the full width of the receiver for maximum strength. This Sporting 12 gauge model has a blued ported 32″ barrel with Invector-DS extended choke tube, 3″ chamber, HiViz fiber optic sights, and a gloss oil finished walnut stock with adjustable comb.

The Silver Pigeon I Sporting is built on the legendary 686 action, a long-standing favorite among hunters and competitive shooters. The Silver Pigeon I marks the dividing line between Beretta’s more economical double guns and the highly decorated luxury models. While popularly priced, it offers the aesthetics and materials of the premium over-unders. The Silver Pigeon I has all the elegance that you can expect from a Beretta. The oil-finished stock sports a beautiful and crisp checkering pattern, and the schnabel fore-end adds to the classic flavor of this over-under. The scroll-engraved receiver is a functional work of art in itself, with its interesting geometry blending perfectly with the stock and contributing to the gun’s graceful lines. This is a shotgun that has all the elements of a treasured heirloom, without the price-tag to match. The oil-finished stock is select walnut finish. This shotgun has the same dual-conical locking mechanism that lets Beretta over-unders stand up to years of constant shooting and to be passed on from generation to generation. It features two conical locking lugs at mid-action, right between the barrels, giving it great locking strength and durability while keeping the action’s profile considerably lower. Placing the locks between the barrels allows a low frame profile that gives Beretta over-unders an unmatched lively feel and natural pointability. The advantage is that the eye of the shooter is a lot closer to the plane of his supporting hand: considerably better swing and hand-eye coordination. Befitting of a field gun that will be used in exciting hunting situations, the safety is automatic, resetting each time the Silver Pigeon is opened for reloading.
